Renewable Energy & Heat: Latest Events

Tourism businesses interested in investing in generating their own energy or heat are being encouraged to take advantage of two events taking place near Exeter in March.

A recent legal decision means that there is another short window for solar energy panels to be eligible for the higher incentive rate which had previously ended before Christmas. With the prices of panels also falling then the payback periods are also coming down making them a very attractive investment in the right situation.

The Renewable Energy Marketplace - Westpoint, Exeter - 8 March

Building on last year's successful event which attracted over 1,000 visitors, the event combines a gathering of a wide range of installers and advice organisations exhibiting their services with a series of short workshops covering the key technologies and incentive schemes. Speakers include the Department of Energy & Climate Change.

Organised by Devon County Council, this event is designed specifically for tourism, hospitality and food and drink producers. Held at the new centre which incorporates the latest technologies, this event will combine expert workshops on energy and water efficiency, waste, government incentives and more, as well as the opportunity to tour the Centre and meet exhibitors who provide a range of support.

Attendence is free but places are limited so early booking is recommended.
