Businesses are being invited to book their place at the inaugaral Devon Tourism Conference.
The event is taking place with the support of Visit Devon and the Devon area tourism partnerships, Food & Drink Devon, Somerset Tourism Association and Taste of the West, and offers industry the chance to hear about latest developments in tourism, to share ideas on surviving the current economic situation, and to anticipate future visitor needs.
It is taking place alongside the annual Expowest Westcountry trade show at Westpoint and is open to tourism businesses from across the South West.
The day is split into 4 sessions covering:
- Marketing and Social Media
- The Big Picture in Tourism
- Facts and Trends
- Enhancing Your Profits
Speakers include Simon Calder (pictured) Senior Travel Editor of the Independent and regular TV travel guru, who will speak on the subject of 'Things I'd do if I were a tourism operator'.
Other contributors include Tripadvisor, and experts on Tourism Awards, Legal issues, Facebook, Web Optimisation and Menu Planning.
