Next Alliance Meeting - 18th January, Exeter
The next meeting of the Alliance will take place in Exeter on the 18th January 2012, commencing at 0930 and concluding by 1230.
Please could Alliance Member representatives inform the Alliance whether they intend to attend to help plan for catering.
The agenda will include the following:
- A presentation and Q&A from Tony Jaffa, from Foot Ansty - an engaging and knowledgeable speaker on how businesses can deal with negative/malicious coverage on Trip Advisor and other User Generated Content sites.
- An update and on how Member businesses and organisations can access the new DEFRA fund for rural tourism.
- An update on the Visit England matched funds programme from within the Regional Growth Fund. (We believe there is an earlier than 18th Jan deadline for applications so are preparing a note on how to apply for this to send beforehand).
- An update from the Heart of the South West LEP on how they are progressing with plans for the visitor economy. We may have another LEP from within the region present as well.
- A debate on the National 20.12% discount programme to result in feedback to Visit England.
- An update on funding of the sustainability and research elements.
If there are any further specific subjects that Members would like to raise, please let us know as soon as possible.
