The South West has some of the finest journeys in the country yet the travel element of a stay is often over-looked. This may explain why last year's SW visitor survey showed that one of the most common suggestions for improvements was travel information and advice.
At best this is wasting a significant opportunity, at worst, customers may be put off or have a negative first and last impression. So what simple and quick things can a business do to help their visitors enjoy their travel to and within the region?

Mini Video Guides to Promote Journeys to Visitors
To provide visitors with inspiration and a taste of the journeys on offer, the existing Spectacular Journeys page of Visit South West is being supplemented by a new Youtube Video Channel containing mini-video guides to some of the best journeys.
The first are being produced in partnership with the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership but, overtime, there will be fuller coverage of the range of great journeys in the South West.
Social media will be used to encourage visitors to share their own recommendations. The print media is already waking up to the possibilities with a front page article in the Travel section of the Daily Telegraph highlighting a bus journey from Bournemouth to Plymouth.
