Could your business be generating its own power?

Could your business be generating its own power?

With Government incentives providing improved rates of return on installing renewable energy, rising fuel bills, many businesses are wondering whether generating their own energy and heat is becoming a realistic option. Find out more by attending this new event The Renewable Energy Market Place, 22 March 2011 at Westpoint near Exeter.
The event, being organised by the regional sustainable energy body, Regen SW, offers tourism businesses the chance to meet recognised experts and renewable energy suppliers first hand, helping them to understand what solution is right for your business and what can help generate more income.

Short, but detailed, workshops will also provide key information covering:

  • An Introduction to Renewable Energy - Technologies, Incentives & Grants

- an overview of the key issues to consider

  • What are the Feed in Tariff & Renewable Heat Incentives?

- a more detailed look at how these incentives work, the tariff levels for different technologies, eligibility criteria and how they work with other funding

  • Individual Workshops on Each of the Main Renewable Technologies

- biomass, heat pumps, hydro, solar PV, solar thermal and wind

Merlin Hyman, chief executive of sustainable energy experts Regen SW, said: "Installing renewable energy is an excellent way for tourism businesses to make a real difference, while improving their green credentials and raising valuable extra revenue.  Payback periods on technologies such as solar panels can be as short as 10 years, and with guaranteed ‘generation' income over the next 25 years, ‘going green' can be a very sound investment".

The event, which is run by Regen SW, includes partnerships with CLA, NFU, Mole Valley Farmers, Forestry Commission, Confor, South West Tourism, Energy Saving Trust, Devon County Council and Western Morning News.

The event costs £25 for delegates. Devon business should contact Rachel Mildon (Green Tourism Business Network Coordinator, 01392 382837) to obtain information on securing a discounted rate.
