This research, commissioned by South West Tourism, was undertaken in July 2010 and shows how South West tourism business were doing in June 2010.
473 businesses responded to this survey.
Note: The fact that the school half term was in early June should be taken into account when comparing results with 2009 (when half-term was in May).
Additionally, the World Cup may have had an impact on businesses during the month of June, especially whilst England were playing.

Our Regional Response Panel is made up of various types of tourism businesses that we contact to help us monitor the impact of unforeseen circumstances and special events on tourism.
The first use of the panel finished in the middle of July and looked at the impact of the Football World Cup. The outputs from this work will be useful when looking at any major sporting event. Click here to view the results.
