Dinner in Support of the ‘Safe and Legal’ Campaign

The next Alliance fund-raising dinner will be held on Tuesday the 3rd September at Higher Wiscombe in East Devon.

 

This is break from the usual in that it is being held to raise money for the ‘safe and legal’ campaign. Over 30 key industry organisations have come together to crowdfund a campaign to get a legal opinion on how some internet platforms allow paid for accommodation to be advertised that is not ‘safe and legal’ and then hide behind terms and conditions that say that they do not claim that the property is safe, legal or even exists. We do not believe that this is in the Consumers interests, and the explosion of properties now available, over 200,000 at the last estimate, is having a material impact on the ‘safe and legal’ sector. The maximum number of tickets is 50 and each event has been a sell-out. There are no speeches, just honest networking with many of the key influencers in the South West.

The food and drink on offer celebrates all that is brilliant locally and the price of the ticket includes all food and refreshments throughout the evening. The Menu is yet to be confirmed - it depends what is seasonal and local. But a sample menu is on this page for reference.

From arrival until 9pm the format is networking and canapés, then all are seated for the main course and the auction (the traditional raffle has been replaced with an online silent auction which has substantially increased the funds raised).

Tickets cost £65 inc booking fee and are available here. Tickets are sold on a first come first served basis and must be paid for in advance.

The cost of the food and drink is offset against the takings; every remaining penny goes to the Crowdfund. These evenings raise anything from £1500 - £2500.
