Food Industry Regulations - Have Your Say

chefDo you work in Hospitality, Catering, Food Retail or Food Manufacture?

If so, the following regulations may have an impact on your business:

  • Food safety standards
  • Health and safety rules
  • Fire regulation
  • Trading standards

In line with the Government's desire to reduce red tape, The South West Regulators' Forum has launched a project called ‘Better Regulation in the Food Industry' (BReiF) to find out about the impact that rules and inspection have on you, the industry, in order to make changes locally to help food businesses.

This is an important chance to voice your opinions and let government know what your business needs to prosper.

Project leaders Sarah Knife and Karen Goodwin would like to find out:

  • How easy is it to find advice and guidance?
  • Do inspectors provide a helpful service or a hindrance?
  • What do you need from regulators?
  • What has worked well and what needs improving?

There are several ways to voice your views:
  • If you can spare 5 minutes, please fill in the
    BReiF Questionnaire (Word Document)
    and email it to: betterregulationinfood@hse.gsi.gov.uk
(Alternatively send an email with any points you would like to make to the same address)
  • Ask Sarah Knife a question regarding Regulation in our ‘Ask the Expert' section.
  • Post a comment at the end of this page.
  • If you would like to discuss any issues by telephone or face to face, please contact the project team:

    Sarah Knife, Tel: 0117 988 6025
    Karen Goodwin, Tel: 0117 988 6011

All contacts will be treated in total confidence upon request.
